Terény  is a magical little village of barely 400 inhabitants in Nógrád County. Nestled among the gentle hills of the Cserhát, in the valley of the Szanda stream, it lies along the National Blue Trail, the Green Route and is also part of the Palóc Route. 

It is located 85 km from Budapest and 20 km from Balassagyarmat. Hollókő is only 35 km away.

The most beautiful part of Terény is the “Szőlősor” on Kossuth Street, on a hillside, where hundred-year-old Palóc peasant houses with hipped roofs and arcades, protected locally and representing significant folk architectural value, stand in a row.

The Szőlősor Guesthouse is one of the gems of these houses. Since April 2023 it has been welcoming guests to experience the perfect harmony of traditional folk architecture and modern comforts. 

The guesthouse is a detached house, making it a perfect place for relaxing families, groups of friends,  couples looking to unwind, and for those who wish to go hiking and explore the surrounding area.  For renting the entire house and for multi-day bookings, a discount is offered. 

It is a child-friendly accommodation, one child up to 4 years of age can stay free of charge, and discounts are also provided for additional children.
